Chris is a globally recognized resettlement planner and social management expert specializing in managing the community impacts, risks, and opportunities associated with resource and infrastructure development projects. He has led complex land acquisition, land use planning, impact assessment, governance, infrastructure planning, and economic development projects in more than 20 countries, including Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, Greece, Italy and Bulgaria.
Chris’ work integrates physical, social, and economic planning, with an emphasis on consultation, negotiation and participatory planning, to balance risk and opportunities within projects. He is intimately familiar with international policies and standards related to environmental and social management and performance. Chris has facilitated international training courses for a range of sectors and clients, including Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), related to the implementation of Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS), Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), and on the implementation of the IFC Performance Standards to Investment Officers for their projects.
