Francisco José Fortuny is a finance professional with more than 8 years of experience in completing and monitoring a number of corporate debt, project finance and equity transactions in emerging markets. He joined the EBRD in 2011 through the Bank’s International Professionals Programme. He became part of EBRD’s Natural Resources team in 2013, where he has participated in the financing of several mining, oil and gas extraction and gas infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania and FYR Macedonia. Prior to EBRD, he worked as a monitoring and operations analyst for the African, Caribbean and Pacific Investment Facility at the European Investment Bank (EIB) based in Luxembourg between 2009 and 2008. Francisco graduated from the University of Barcelona with a major in Economics and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He also holds an MSc in Finance from Grenoble École de Management and a BSc in European Economics from the Nottingham Trent University.
